This registration is for Friday (winter only) afterschool sewing classes for children ages 5-11. Students will be grouped based on age and skill level. Please see below for more information about classes for each age group.
Ages 5-8
Our classes for younger children explore the wonders of needle and thread with projects that combine hand sewing and machine sewing. Young sewists learn how to embroider, sew buttons, applique and create items like bags, stuffed animals and pillows on a machine. All students are taught how to thread a sewing machine on their own. You won't believe what your child is able to do after just a few weeks!
Ages 8-11
We give 8-11 year olds the skills they need to bring fabric to life. In addition to learning how to thread and operate a sewing machine with complete independence, students learn advanced skills like how to insert zippers, topstitching, working with linings and sewing curved seams. Projects for this age group have included backpacks, simple garments, lunch boxes, accessories, stuffed animals and much more.

Participants must be entering grades kindergarten to 6.
